Carol Lindsay M.A. has been a percussionist since 1968 performing in orchestras, bands, musicals and percussion ensembles and maintained a private holistic healing practice since 1987. Carol graduated from the Institute for Therapeutic Touch in 1987 and The Barbara Brennan School of Healing in 1997. She is a founding member of the celtic band "Callanish" and the improv percussion group,
"Tr-HANDS-formation". She has recorded 1 solo percussion/voice CD, 2 meditation CDs and 2 traditional celtic music CDs. In 2006, she joined forces with Cathy Herrera Ph.D. to create the duo "From the Heart".
Cathy Herrera, D.M. has performed in orchestras, chamber emsembles and as a soloist in over a dozen countries spanning 3 continents. With a doctorate in flute performance and a certificate in World Music, Cathy shares her joy of music teaching and performing for hundreds of students and concert goers ranging in age from pre-school to university and beyond. This is her first CD.
Cathy & Carol met through the Galaxy Arts in Education Program where they are both artists sharing their passion for music in the schools in Central PA. They created this CD out of their mutual desire to help others find deep peace, healing and joy through music. All of these pieces are improvized, spontaneously coming straight from the heart. No edits, no changes. We hope that you enjoy listening to us as much as we enjoyed creating these "doorways" for you.
