A mellowish/folksy inspection of love, life, and faith; perfect for hot java and a rainy day
14 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Gentle, GOSPEL: Contemporary Gospel
Details:
Rick started writing songs at the age of 16. Growing up in Minnesota, he gained an appreciation for various musical styles, from the old German polkas he played with his father and uncles, to the Pink Floyd he found coming out of his radio. The short list of musical influences would have to include: The Kingston Trio, James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Jethro Tull, and John Gorka.
His first recording project, âCompassâ, was completed in 1994 while he was working with a drama ministry in the upper mid-west. Its contents were very much focused on the spiritual, and directed towards those they came in contact with in various difficulties of life.
In 2000, Rick put together his next project, âAnother Cup Of Coffeeâ. This time he was able to branch out a bit more in his subject matter, and began experimenting with different styles. The songs look at love, life, and faith; the basic three of songwriting.
He is currently working on another recording project, name and release date to be announced.
Rick is also a playwright, actor, and director, for various theatrical adventures. He believes music and theatre to be just variations of each other; a look at life from a certain perspective.
