Kelly Swanson is a nationally known award-winning author, comedienne, and storyteller. She tells funny stories about life in the south using her wacky cast of southern characters who live in a place where tater guns misfire, beauty pageants abound, and fine art comes on black velvet. Her one-woman shows have delighted audiences from coast to coast. She has performed at the National Storytelling Festival, the Best of Our State Festival, opened for Loretta Lynn, has appeared in numerous conventions, festivals, schools, churches, businesses, social events, and is a repeat performer for Holland America Cruise Lines.

Her work can be found in print (Aunt Vyrnettaâ¦and other stories from Cedar Grove) and various CDâs, one of which has won awards from the National Parenting Publications Association and the Film Advisory Board, for quality family entertainment. Whether you see Kelly from the stage, the podium, or attend one of her Comedy, Whatâs YOUR Story or One-Sentence Workshops, you are always in for a side-splitting good time. Not only are Kellyâs shows high-energy, entertaining, motivating, and informative, she weaves into her comedy poignant messages that encourage, inspire, and remind us to stay on the funny side of life.

Kelly currently serves as 2006-2007 President of the North Carolina Storytelling Guild, as well as past Secretary and Regional Representative. She is a member of the National Speakers Association and an active member in its local chapter, NSA/Carolinas. She has a Costco gold card and a gym membership she never uses.
