Linda Gentille Biography


Growing up in Pacific Palisades, California, Linda began her musical study taking classes with her father with Roger Williams. Her talent was recognized early at the music school as she amazed teachers with her technique and memory. She studied under Julliard trained Richard Kohfeld of Santa Monica and won numerous piano awards and accolades as a young pianist.

Linda auditioned for the Liberace show as a teen and was selected to tour with him in 1986 and performed at his record breaking Radio City Music Hall engagement. This was the beginning of her musical career. Gentille began her career in 1986 with the great Liberace who discovered her in Las Vegas and invited her to join The Liberace Show. Liberace said of Linda, "She plays as beautiful as she looks." Linda 's entertaining style is reminiscent of her former mentor and friend.

Linda's concert performances continuously bring audiences to their feet. Her talent, beauty and personality make her an instant hit with audience's world wide. Gentille has performed over 1000 concerts worldwide. One of the highlights of her career was a performance at The White House Correspondents Dinner in May 1985 for President Ronald Reagan, her former Palisades neighbor. She recently completed her 10th concert tour of China. Linda holds the world record according to the Chinese Ministry of Culture, for performing more concerts (over 100) in China than any other performer. Her CD's sell world wide and her CD's have sold over 5 million copies in China. She attributes this success to her ability to connect with her audiences.

She has recorded over a dozen recordings and DVD's and successfully runs her own production company Peacemaker Productions producing concerts and student drug prevention assemblies. Linda is a great inspiration for thousands of students across the country and has performed over 100 student assembly performances during her career.

She skillfully weaves classical music into many popular songs and hymns and has a repertoire of over 2000 songs. One of the highlight's of all Gentille's concerts is called " The Top Ten Medley." She calls for requests from the audience, and then from memory plays them backwards and in order of request.

Gentille's command of the Mandarin language, coupled with her star-quality and virtuoso piano skill have endeared her to the Chinese public. As the most popular Western pianist in China, Linda has great influence over the youth of the country. Linda devotes her free time to helping both children and animals. Her ministry in China takes her to orphanages in China where she donates proceeds from her China tours. Her main beneficiary is the Langfang orphanage outside Beijing. ( www.ChinaOrphans.org)
