Experimental dreamy, moody pop songs ala Flaming Lips and Mercury Rev, with dual male and female vocals.
6 MP3 Songs
POP: Quirky, ROCK: Progressive Rock
Details:
Captain Audio was the former band from Josh and Brandon of the SECRET MACHINES and Regina from CHAO
Captain Audio started off in 1997 as a lo-fi, 4-track, living room project between vocalist/guitarist Regina Chellew, who was a touring member of Scottish pop band Ruby (Sony, Creation U.K.), and drummer Josh Garza, who had just left the influential drone quartet Comet (Dedicated).
" Like the Flaming Lips playing on the wing of a 747...an amazing record" Dallas Observer
They quickly evolved into a full-on aural onslaught with the addition of former UFOFU (Medicine) bassist/vocalist/keyboardist Brandon Curtis.
"Futuristic pop, music so thoroughly modern that it sounds like tomorrow, ambitious and edgy." Allmusic.com
The group has garnered a reputation as unpredictable performers able to turn the standard live rock show into an episodic and breathtaking experience.
"Gorgeously unpredictable, a grandiose sonic montage as good anything conceived by Phil SPectre, an impressive outing from a band hat has done nothing but impress." FW Weekly
