As a child most kids spent their time playing video games and watching TV. MaryBethâs addiction was the piano. Her favorite pass time was sneaking in to the high school auditorium and playing on the grand piano, alone in the dark for a vast imaginary audience. Playing and writing is a release; a passion which fuels itself. It takes you to a place where you can pour out your every thought, feeling and fear. Itâs place where problems are resolved and thought out. And it is this place that others meet you, all through music. Writing however, is not a talent that all have and share. For MaryBeth, Writing music was a talent which unveiled itself at the age of 11. She often performed at several community organizations with her father (a fiddle player). Those experiences offered her comfortable stage presence. Coming from a family of musicians, they encouraged her growth and fostered her love of performing. She eventually started writing singer/songwriter material and relocated to the Philadelphia area. She performs at universities, clubs, coffee shops, private parties and often collaborates with other local artists. In 2005, she released her first album Foundations. As a young artist, the disc was quite an accomplishment. But overall, itâs really about that one moment, when you know that youâve touched someoneâs soul with your writings. In that instant, two strangers connect, and that is what music is all about.
