Not quite punk rock & not quite nu-metal. Plastic Submarine is taking the best of both styles of music and merging them into something they can call their own. Proving that a family that plays together stays together, the members of Plastic Submarine include the Mejia Brothers (Carlos, 22, lead vocals & bass : Marcos, 20, Guitar & vocals : Adrian, 17, Drums).

1995-1999: The Mejia brothers musical journey began with their dad putting 14 year old Carlos on bass and 12 year old Marcos on drums. Their dad played guitar and taught his sons their first song (an original he wrote "Isla Tequila"). Soon his sons were learning songs faster than he could write them, so they learned a few covers from Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Queen, etc.....

Carlos & Marcos then formed a band called The "Mexicas" with their cousin Omar from Monterrey taking the seat at drums (Marcos switched to guitar after teaching Omar how to play drums). After a couple of years of high school gigs and garage parties, Carlos & Marcos formed "Black Nails" with their dad back on guitar (Omar had returned to Monterrey & Marcos had returned to drums). They decided to play mostly original tunes which got them gigs at bars and bicker parties and an opportunity to participate in "The Battle of the Bands" organized by Q94.5 held at Super Splash in Edinburg.

2000-2001: The Mejia brothers begin writing faster & shorter songs. They recruit youngest brother Adrian, 15. Marcos teaches Adrian how to play drums and returns to guitar (where he enjoys being the most) and "Plastic Submarine" emerged. The summer of 2000 had them participating in the "Valley Punk Rock Tour" as the opening act for 3rd n Long, Long Shot and Silver Pennies. Even though "PS" is not a punk rock band in the classic sense, it didn't stop the mosh pits from forming when they played. The mega-watt energy of their playing on stage, along with their on-stage stunts (fire hats & destroying guitars at the end of the show) makes sure that the audience has a time to remember at a Plastic Submarine live show.

2002: "PS" is inthe studio with producer & engineer "Daddy J Fez" recording their first full length CD, which will be unleashed January 2003.
