Redemption:I thank Jesus for dying on the cross and rising the third day that we all might have a chance at eternal life. I thank God for sacrificing His Son, and I thank Jesus for giving us the Holy Spirit through Salvation by repentance, baptism, belief, faith and by His blood shed for our sins. He redeemed us! He has giving us "Power over the enemy and his kingdom". I can't began to describe the struggle but my testimony is in each song. "We must suffer with Him to Reign with Him". Amen.
Let It Go:The CD was going to be another instrumental follow-up to "Soul Of A Man" with "Soulful Seasons" in 2005. Then things fell through after recording "Tis So Sweet" in 2005. I completed the additional 14 songs for the album in April 2006 in weeks time by the Lord's direction.I was on the EL train riding in Philly thinking on all of lifes difficulties and adversities...and the Spirit of the Lord spoke to me and said to "Let it Go!". The lyrics just came and I was feeling the song needed a rock edge to it for the listener to really let go so I told my friend Joe Vance the concept as I banged it out on the piano at Piano On The Porch Studio (and literally there's a piano on the porch-ha', but I didn't play that one). Joe played live drums, lead & back-up guitar. I played synth bass on it and he added with me the background vocal shout "let it go"!!!!I dropped a Remix and told my budd Big Al Rice I need a funky live bass overdub so he lent his many talents and spanked the bass track live. The whole album was in my Spirit I had to release it out of me, yet in God's timing I couldn't just drop a "Redemption" titled CD without trial & tribulation.
This album: I simply prayed, played and took a pen and wrote what I was feeling. Basically my testimony in lyric form on paper...not for entertainment just the anointing and being Spirit led. I sat at the board (keyboard) and released. I sat at the digital 88key hammer piano and let the traditional hymns fall for Mom and all the church Mothers...ha'. I didn't set out to do anything but reach every soul and every age & era with every style of music from Hip-hop, Contemporary Gospel, Traditional, Praise & Worship, Smooth Jazz, and Rock using what the Lord put in me to give. I just wanted to Minister within the music. It was to be a demo I let the album sit after April 2006 frustrated and the Lord said go back and get what I gave you...the gifts, the testimonies on song, and in an appointed time it will manifest. I was anxious to drop the album then came all the setbacks (they happen between albums to just about every artist). Then I had doubt but faith prevailed and I realized this (CD)had nothing to do with me and I really had to remember to "Let It Go" thats what He told me anyway in the beginning. I had to believe it and receive it, in order to Minister it to the lost. It never was about me or my timing. So here it is with blessings from God!I pray you be encouraged by my testimony!
