âThe only thing we take seriously is our music.â says Justin (Bass), and wearing a tin-foil costume for a Halloween gig.

Doug (guitars) and Lionel (drums) both agree, âYea, we didnât push ourselves through hell at music college so we could get up in front of a bunch of mindless teenyboppers and play 3 chords in 4/4 time every gig. I want to challenge myself as a musician every time I play. But I also want to keep it light and have fun.â

âOr sing song after song about relationships.â adds Russ (vocals), âI mean, come on, I want to sing my heart out, not sell my soul.â

RedSideâs music is described as âHard rock for people with brains.â

RedSide has played together since 1989 when they met a college. âThe one thing we all had in common is that we each have a strong passion for playing our instruments well. We actually practice, which is not something I can say about all the musicians Iâve met and played with.â

âThe Sistine Chapel wasnât created by some shmuck tossing a bunch of paint at a ceiling and calling it a masterpiece.â Justin sums up, âOur music is a real work of art. But itâs not just that, we really rock! I put everything in to it. Just listen to Russ sing âWhenâs Breakfast?â - he puts it all out there.â

âHow about Dougâs extended guitar solo on Early to Dawn?â asks Russ, âIâm spellbound every time I listen to it. I love just sitting back and watching these guys play together in the instrumental sections, or in our private jam sessions, there is a synergy between the three of them that is just remarkable. Iâm glad to be a part of it.â
