The Band of Brotherly Rock and Roll, The Roddies blend the old with the new and jams on cue. Hailing from Philadelphia, PA, the band is comprised of three brothers, twins Rich (vocals, guitar) and Fran (guitars, bass) and Keith (bass, guitars) and their cousin Ray (drums). The music embosses influences ranging from Southern rock, indie, to blues rock. The four bandmates have recently released their first EP, "The Roddies 5651", a flavorful and moving debut effort that proves that rock and roll will never die.

The bands name is a nickname derived from Rich, Fran and Keithâs last name Rodowicz (Rayâs motherâs maiden name). The family is deep rooted in a musical family tree that includes their Grandfather Frank Rodowicz who played with the likes of Frank Sinatra and Artie Shaw, and the first Philadelphia Eagles grand stand band, their father who backed a World Championship Marching Band and played Bass and trombone in various rock and roll bands in the late 60âs and early 70âs to many other family members who all have music in their blood.

Before taking their hand at rock n roll, twin brothers Rich and Fran played the trumpet and piano, and grew up listening to everything from the Beatles to Stevie Wonder (who at a concert at the old Valley Forge Music Fair, actually invited the young twins on stage to sing along on a song, kicking off a love of entertaining with music). Cousin Ray has played the drums for most of his life and had played in various cover bands before putting his amazing beats to these original songs, and younger brother Keith started playing piano at Settlement Music School in Philadelphia before picking up the bass.

In 2003 at a New Years Day dinner, the four finally sat down together to create some music of their own. Ray and Keith had been playing with another band and the twins asked them if they wanted to try a couple of the songs that they were working on. The Magic happened from the start and the four started developing an incredible chemistry for making music. The band continues to blend their creativity, already writing and recording for their second project. They gain new fans with every jamming performance and continue to thrill music lovers all over.
