Details:
Sound Exprezz played for many celebrations including Carnaval and Cinco de Mayo and was a long time fixture on the San Francisco bay area club scene from 1987 until the end of 1990. Their blend of rock, latin percussion and old school R& B made them an exciting live act.
Jim Dotson, Tom Lazaneo, Ritchie Velesquez, Nick Lazaneo, Jimmy(The Bear) Martinez and Miguel Vallejo were in the original band.
Sadly, Nick Lazaneo bass guitar and Jimmy Martinez timbales, percussion passed away in 2000 and 2004. The current cd, IN THE NIGHT, is a reunion/tribute collection of their originals with the surviving members: Jim Dotson, drums vocals, Ritchie Velesquez, congas, Ralph Probst, lead guitar, Tom Lazaneo guitar, bass, augmented by Victor Galvez, timbales percussion, and Rob Lazaneo, bass, guitar, keyboard, and vocals.
If you love sweaty, pumping dance rhythms, soulful vocals, in your face guitar pyrotechnics, listen to this music because it is hot.
At this time, the band is in the process of re-grouping and will be performing some live shows. A possible summer tour is in the works.
