Details:
Anderson has released 3 CDs and countless singles & comp tracks with his band Zonic Shockum, which had evolved from a solo 4-track recording project in 1988, to a full band who performed together for over 15 years.
In 1993 Steve released a solo EP on white vinyl under the name Bladder Control. Flipside magazine regarded the songs on the record as âwonderfully inventive.â More recently he contributed a solo track to the film Milk and Honey by Kate McCabe in 2004.
The new album was recorded alone with Anderson singing and playing all of the instruments himself. The result is a dark and moody collection of 10 highly emotional songs.
The main theme of the album is escapism. Some songs project imagery of murder and suicide, while others are simply dreamscapes. Musically, it is bass and piano heavy with minimal drums. Acoustic and electric guitars swirl around hypnotically throughout the songs.
The first video from the album, for the song âI Donât Know You,â was released on April 24th.
