However, their big break came in summer 2001 when their first single â Fiestaâ hit the number one spot on major Canadian radio station (Flow
93.5FM). Since then, this Hip Hop duo have continuously released songs that have redefined and set new standards for the Canadian Hip Hop scene. Tef & Don pride themselves as one of the best in the game, as they can come from any angle be it West Coast, East Coast, Dirty South or their newly pioneered Northside Swang. They have set a new definition for Canadian Hip Hop called âNorthside Swangâ. Northside Swang is a fine blend of Hip Hop with a smooth feel of Caribbean melody. Since joining Sound Street Records in Summer 2003, Tef & Don have released five (5) singles namely âGirls Girlsâ (Aug 2003), âThug Prettyâ (April 2004), âBack In The Daysâ (July 2004), âU Deserveâ (February 2005) and âSittin On Chromeâ (March 2007). Tef & Don have toured Canada and just recently completed their US tour in promotion of their first and upcoming album âTHUG PRETTYâ scheduled to be released soon. Tef & Don have performed alongside the very best in urban music including Usher, Lil Jon, Mob Deep, Eve, Shaggy, Bounty Killa, Akon, Wu Tang Clan, Black Eye Pea, Cash Money, Buster Rhymes, RUN DMC, Foxy Brown, Lil Scrappy, DMX just to mention a few. Their âGirls Girlsâ music video was featured on BET, MTV, MTV 2, MUCH MUSIC (Canada), Channel U (UK), Channel O (South Africa and the rest of Africa) in summer 2004. They have been special guest on major BET events including 2004 BET Music Awards, BET rap it up Ft Lauderdale Florida (2004) and Atlanta Peachtree Festival (2004). Tef & Don just recently completed shooting the video for their upcoming single âSittin On Chromeâ which is scheduled to be released soon.
