BIRUSHANAH was formed at hometown Osaka by bassist Sougyo and drums John in 2002. Our 1st Cd was released from my own label SMD records. In the last period of Tesuo (before band of sougyo & Iso), Metal percussion was introduced to the band and I was getting interested in the sound, so I decided to use Metal percussion in BIRUSHANAH as well. Also, We use many Japanese traditional scale with fretless bass and mixed them into a band sound and BIRUSHANAHâs style was completed. After that, we are planning to tour in USA, Australia, Europe and be active to all over the world.

This CD came out in 2002, and since then, the line-up has changed considerably. Simon and John are no longer in Birushanah as they now both play in Dad They Broke Me, and the band has gone from a four-piece to a five piece band. There are elements of traditional japanese folk music in their arrangements as well as in their sound, and they are able to move fluidly between twangy eastern sounds to sheer grinding brutality. The first five minutes of this CD sees the band tunefully play these beautiful folky songs using a sitar & DIDJERIDOO but slowly progresses into darker and more brutal territory.
