Daddy Squeeze and the Doctor perform country blues, rags, and American folk on accordion, guitar, dobro, and vocals. They have been singin' and stompin' original and traditional favorites at bars, coffee houses, house parties, and concert halls since 1980. "You Better Mind" is their 4th recording.

Dan "Daddy Squeeze" Newton picked up the accordion in 1978, while playing with "Paddywhack", an Irish music group based in his home town of Lincoln, Nebraska. He used the squeezebox instead of piano while gigging with "Last Call", a western swing outfit, which spurred his interest in the accordion as an instrument for blues, swing, and Cajun music. In 1979 Dan met John Walker, and after sitting in on a couple of gigs together, they formed the acoustic folk-blues band "Fat City".In 1984 they began performing as a duo.He likes French roast coffee, Guinness, hot sauce, and the Marx Brothers.

Doctor John Walker has been called " the only living American bluesman with a PhD in ethics from an Ivy League school.The son of a Methodist preacher, and native of Oklahoma, John grew up with the music of Woody Guthrie, Bob Wills, and Sunday hymn sings. He honed his finger-picking guitar skills during the folk scare of the 50's.John now lives in Lincoln, Ne., where he is winding up a career as a philosophy professor at Nebraska Wesleyan University.He likes barbecue, basketball, strong coffee, and Johnnie Walker Red.
