Details:
Call Box 101 is a 3 piece reggae/rock band if we must put a label on ourselves. We play alittle of everything. We are from Bakersfield California.

Current members:
Tim Beerbower - Vocals/Guitar
Alex Funk - Bass
Jack Bowers - Drums

Influences:
Sublime, Ziggins, Bob Marely, Peter Broggs, Bad Religion, System of a Down, Nirvana, Faith No More, Youth Brigade, Dystopia, Crass, Nausea, Final Conflict, Dead Kennedys, Everclear, Kittie, NIN, Conflict and more.

There once was a little political, hardcore, punk band called Passive Resistance. The memebers were Tim Beerbower, Jack Bowers, Will Swain, Nick Robertson & Brandon Miles. Passive resistance broke up because no one got along & everyone was sick of the fighting. After a year of doing nothing Tim Beerbower started to jam with Joey Campbell and Jack picked up the drums. After running into each other Tim and Jack decided to form a band. The original name was called Restricted but we never really liked it. Jack came up with the name Call Box after seeing a call box sign on the way to a show. Tim later added the 101 because our biggest influence is Sublime and you have to take the 101 to get to the beach. So the name became CallBox 101. We played a few shows and did alright but Joey started flaking out. We also learned he was dealing drugs and had ripped off a large drug dealer. He was being hunted by the guy. Jack and Tim decided that we did not want to be shot over wanting to jam so we kicked Joey out. We soon met Alex Funk. He knew Tim from school and had seen CallBox play. We decided to try him out. Alex worked out great. He was not a flake and he was a very talented guitarist and bassist. We dont know what we would do without him. That brings us to the current line up. Alex Funk - Bassist, Jack Bowers - Drummer, & Tim Beerbower - Vocals & guitar. We've had this current line up for around a year and a half. They recorded their first CD in October 2002, Interchange. We are working on our second cd and several new songs. We are also
considering adding another guitar or a keyboardist to the band. Maybe a horn or two on or new cd. We havent decided.
