Euphoria's Depression is a Canadian acoustic rock band fronted by Marcio Novelli. As its sole singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist, Novelli is the only official member of the band and remains exclusively responsible for its musical direction. On stage, Novelli performs solo amongst visually extravagant elements, sometimes assembling a live band to accompany him on tour, a whole separate entity of Euphoria's Depression in the recording studio. The name, Euphoria's Depression, is a multi-layered metaphorical interpretation of the dualistic nature of the music and the man behind it, making reference to the idea that the truly troubled are often the ones least expected. "Euphoria" is also the name of a character created by Novelli serving to bring the concept to a visual element featuring her on album covers, stage props and merchandise.

Digging deep into the vast realm of the human psyche, concentrating on the darker side of what life has to offer, Novelli draws from personal experience, approaching song writing as a declaration of a doomed existence gleaming with a diminutive glimmer of hope. Profound, nostalgic lyrics written from a heart-on-his-sleeve approach makes you feel as if Novelli has stolen the words, thoughts and emotions out of your mouth, head and heart, channeling it to and through the very depths of your soul. Novelli's emotionally charged and distinctively poignant voice is a refreshing lifesaver in a sea of musical dishonesty, leaving every listener feeling melancholically content. With an acoustical foundation that can sometimes stretch to a full band arrangement, the only thing to expect from Euphoria's Depression musically, lyrically and on stage is the unexpected.

Euphoria's Depression's debut CD/EP entitled, "The Overture" (2006), is a dramatic unveiling of the band and, as the title suggests, serves as an opening remark meant to precede and set the stage for all future releases. Produced by Novelli himself and mastered by legendary mastering engineer Chris Athens (Coldplay, Johnny Cash, Bob Marley), "The Overture" is an honest expression of doleful emotions packed with heart and sealed with soul. The sonic experience on the EP is one akin to a distinctively heartfelt acoustic performance that Euphoria's Depression has become known for. Characterized by ardent disinterest in trying to please everybody, the EP is best enjoyed by the somber at heart while its genuine delivery simultaneously appeals to a diverse audience. Songs featured on "The Overture" are currently in rotation on college/university radio stations across Canada as well as internet radio stations across the world.

This year will see Novelli entering Silo Studio with Producer and Juno award nominee Julius Butty (Alexisonfire, City and Colour, Protest the Hero) co-producing a currently untitled release. Making a conscious effort to break stereotypes and prove that Euphoria's Depression is not a one-dimensional solo project; song arrangements that stretch beyond the acoustic styling of "The Overture" will be used while still maintaining Euphoria's Depression's signature sound. Novelli is set to perform every instrument on the upcoming release with the only exception of drums, which will be performed by Dan Fila (Varga, Hypodust). The upcoming release can be viewed as a necessary companion to "The Overture", each representing one side of the same coin.

In the last year and a half, notable Euphoria's Depression performances include sharing a stage with Canadian rockers The Black Maria (Victory), Ill Scarlett (Infect the Masses/Red Ink), Everlea (Christy Ridge), Machete Avenue (Underground Operations), Summerside (Bullion), Dear Jane, I... (Verona), Awake & Dreaming (Another City) and, most recently, Mariana's Trench (604) and Faber Drive (Universal) at one of Euphoria's Depression's many sold out shows in Novelli's hometown. Novelli has appeared as a special guest performer on 91.9 FM as part of a special fundraiser supported by other musical guests such as Moneen (Vagrant Records) and Alexisonfire (Vagrant/Distort). Novelli has participated in charity shows and events in order to raise money for McMaster Hospital Sick Kids among other benevolent organizations and has even been asked to appear as a guest judge for band battles at his old high school and other numerous high schools throughout Southern Ontario.
