The Fine Wine Trio formed in 1998 and achieved success by being chosen "Ambassadors of Jazz." Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the group was featured during their 2001 summer tour of Africa and the Near East. Other performances include the Blue Note in New York City, and festivals in Mexico. The Fine Wine Trio excels at creativity. Kapp - Vocals/Percussion/Harmonica R.B.'s career encompasses a rainbow of experiences from mainstream work with Dexter Gordon to excursions into the avant-garde. His range of expression spans delicate whispers to controlled, propulsive power. Gabriel Hernandez - Keyboards Gabriel's career has involved many jazz festivals as a member of both the Leon Thomas and Dizzy Gillespie groups. His Cuban piano style adds an extraordinary flavor of rhythm and melody to the Fine Wine Trio blend. Gene Perla - Bassist Gene's long and varied career includes stints with Elvin Jones, Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, Sonny Rollins and Stone Alliance. Noted for his width in musical styles, he presents foundations that support and prod his teammates.
