"It is absolutely your best CD yet! I love it. I love the subtitle "Hymns of Faith played with Celtic Heart." It's most appropriate, and oh, so true -- perfectly describes the contents. Very well done!

I loved "What Wondrous Love!, "Jesus, Lover of My Soul/Musical Priest" and the "invitational" hymn medley ("Just As I Am/I Surrender all"). But for me, the best moment came in the middle of the CD: I was smiling after that particularly sweet rendition of "The Lord's My Shepherd."

"Sweet By and By" started out and I thought, "Oh, this is going to be sweet, too." But then I heard that drum solo and just laughed out loud. You had my toe tapping all the way through. That is an inspired version of "Sweet By And By!"(One of my grandmother's favorites, and I know she'd approve.)"

Crafting arrangements of beloved hymns intertwined with Irish melodies and with an Irish voice grew out of a passion for both traditional Celtic music and the traditional hymns of our faith that have persisted for generations. These are the hymns that our parents whistled and sang as we grew up. Adding Celtic heart and Irish flavor gives them a fresh new sound.

We are grateful for a God whose enduring love is with us through life's sorrows, disappointments, and failures. When our spirits are bruised and broken, God is there to comfort and guide. These great hymns of faith express truth that becomes deeper and richer as we experience life and God's "Unfailing Love."

FireWeed is a traditional Celtic band from Northern Michigan. Band members include Kathy Case (Hammered Dulcimer, Irish Whistle); Ken Case (guitar, Irish Tenor Banjo, Irish Bouzouki); John Harrison (Bodhran, Congas, Percussion); and Mary Harrison (Autoharp). They perform at festivals, concerts, banquets, churches, art shows, weddings and other special events. They also share their music through their recordings. They have recorded four CD's.

Their name "FireWeed" comes from a flower in northern Michigan that grows in the wild. It is one of the first plants to grow back after the devastation of a forest fire. It survives because of its deep root. This group sees this as a symbol of their music. The tunes they perform have a deep root in tradition that has allowed them to survive and thrive through generations.
