Neurepublikâs âOstentatiousâ is one of the bands best efforts to date. The album was originally released in 2002, but stayed largely under the radar due to limited distribution. In 2007, after the completion of their âPopscheißeâ album, the band agreed that Ostentatious deserved another chance.

âOstentatiousâ continues along the path set by their popular 2001 release âGotik Neuromantikâ. A unique hybrid of moody gothic-tinged melody with electronic reinforcement, it is a sound experience unique to Neurepublik. This album is a bit more dance oriented than itâs predecessor, as evidenced by tracks such as âThe Vampire Skankâ, âCome Undoneâ, and âEmptiness Machineâ. There are also some excellent brooding offerings like the songs âAll Hallowâs Eveâ and âChristmas In Babylonâ. âCrying Aloneâ, the standout single from âOstentatiousâ is included in both itâs full-length album version and itâs shortened radio form.

If you missed it the first time around, you owe it to yourself to check out this remastered re-release by one of the most innovative dark electronica bands to come around in quite a while.
