I have always liked to make up songs. I get a catchy tune running in my head and can't get it out until I put some words to it. I even wake up in the middle of the night sometimes with a song going thru my head so get up and write it down. Sometimes I don't even make any changes. My dad composed a lot of songs too, so I guess it comes naturally.

I retired from my elected job which I had had for 14 years, after living and working on a farm in Eastern Oregon previously. I was encouraged to start putting my songs on a CD and found a good accompanist who has helped me a lot. I think songs that mean something to you can also mean something to others.

I had five children, four girls and a boy. Still have two girls and a boy, and many grandchildren. My first wife died and I was able to find another wonderful wife who has helped me in Many Many ways. She has encouraged me to share my music with others.

My sisters have enjoyed the songs, and one told me she sang "It's Chilly Willie, in the Mornin'" many mornings this last winter. The anniversary of the Lewis and Clark expeditions triggered,"I'm Headin' Out For Oregon". Nutrition has been emphasized more recently which suggested "It's a Ginko Biloba Day".
