Details:
First I want to bless up my creator, the King of my life through all the hardship and struggles I been through, then my families and friends who continuously supports me on my musical journey.
Born and raised in Negril, Westmoreland, Jamaica. My struggle is to find musical peace within was easy cause Iâve got love In my heart. I first started performing on the street corners with my friendâs that loved it so much that they encouraged me to start nightly appearance as stage name as D Money at places like Alfredâs, Ocean Palace, Bourbon Beach, Roots Bamboo, Risky Business and MX3 no exception the entire 7 mile beach was blessed with my inspiration lyrics and unique style at the tender age of sixteen years old. I had to be a hustler to help my mother. Being the head of the house hold and was trying hard to make ends meet cause dad was not around. I could not help my mom a lot so I started renting bikes owned by my brother to touristâs on the beach, thatâs how I met Rohan Martin being the first artist Iâve met from the same community and both hustlers we collaborated and started writing songs together. Eventually my first song was written 2000 and without hesitation the following month it was being performed with Rohan later known as Tempa Kid. The inspiration I got was like nothing I ever felt before and it encouraged me to move forward which also helped me to be more mature and inspired in my music.
Being popular in the streets I got to meet a beautiful empress who later happens to bless my life with my first daughter in July 2oo4. Being a dad at that tender age was very aggravated and it even got worst when two weeks after the birth of my child my leg got broken so it was only the fittest of the fittest that could possible survive and I did.
The following year I moved to California, got married hoping to explore and fulfill my dreams, after one month my marriage started to get rocky. I moved to Florida where I started working as a painter with one thing on my mind âBlack people were born strongâ so I know I could survive based on my experienced Jamaican Rootâs.
In 2006, in only a year I composed my first album âOne Chanceâ featuring more fresh material and solid energy. Like the sun through the cloudy sky I started to shine and with the help of Macky my computer master even without a salary he stood by me until my music was intact until today.
This is Damian Vaz A.K.A. D-Money a Young Ghetto survivor spreading the love and ask you all to keep listening and supporting my music. Bless.
This album âOne Chanceâ is about me D-money, itâs about my life good times, bad times, upâs and downâs but people all over the world can relate to it.
