Details:
A very special recording of one of the most historic musical instruments in America. This recording allows you to "time-travel" back to the 19th century both in its realistic sound, which brings this thrilling, interesting instrument into your home, and in the exciting, "historically informed" approach of the performer. Recorded under very difficult circumstances because of the mostly 19th century condition of the auditorium, this CD is beautifully packaged with color photos of the auditorium, organ, and performer in a full color, multi-panelled jacket.

Thomas Dressler is known for exciting, passionate performances on the organ and harpsichord which combine warm musicality with historic techniques. He has been performing for twenty-nine years, often on historic instruments, including the 1776 Tannenberg organ in Nazareth, PA, the 1847 Ferris organ at Round Lake, NY, the 1865 Hook organ at Orwell, VT, and the large Sesquicentennial organ at University of PA. He has appeared on local television in NY, the Poconos, and Philadelphia. His playing at the opening concert of the 150th anniversary celebration of the Round Lake organ was said to be "riveting" and "stunningly elegant." His recording on the Round Lake organ was released in August of 2003.
