Details:
âJarezâ, Jarel Posey, born in Inglewood California on April 21, 1979. At age twelve he found his lifeâs passion and purpose, music.

Jarelâs first year in Junior High School, he was placed into Concert Band class. When it was time to tryout instruments he was drawn to the saxophone, the teacher was very impressed and raved about how naturally talented he was. In a few short months he would be come the only first year band member to be put into the Advanced Band, he accelerated to the top. By the end of his first year in Junior High School he had played in numerous concerts throughout Los Angeles and Orange County. His passion for music transpired into an intense love of Jazz. The summer of 1994 Jarel created a band with two friends called Crescendo, by now Jarel was heavily influenced by Jazz. His role model was his father, James Posey, who was and still is a successful and accomplished keyboardist. It was his father that inspired Jarel to become the musician that he has aspired to become. Besides Jarelâs father, some of his other influences are Kenny Garret, Dave Koz, David Sanborn, Grover Washington Junior, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, and Gerald Albright. By the time he left Junior High School he had played in over 45 concerts while being thought of as a remarkable musician. When Jarel reached High School he was involved in Concert Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band, and his own band, Crescendo. Jarel played a ballad called "Georgia On My Mind" which was the highlight of the 1997 Del Amo Jazz Festival. At the age of 16 Jarel and Crescendo got their first break at Choice's Restaurant where they serenaded the audience with Smooth Contemporary Jazz. From that performance they were requested to play at restaurants and nightclubs throughout Los Angeles, they were perceived as a hot young act to see. By the time Jarel graduated from High School he had played in over 120 events, featured in the school newspaper, received three outstanding awards, and two scholarships. Jarel later named "JAREZ" got his name from an award he received in which his name had been spelled wrong.

In college he studied to become an Audio Engineer and Music Producer. With his Audio Engineer education he collaborated on and produced numerous projects for all genres of music and artists as well as for himself. Perfection is in the details.

2002 through 2006 Jarez toured with Grammy Award Winning artist "COOLIO" where his role was to razzle dazzle the crowd with unique and skillful solos. Traveling in over 30 countries Jarez has seen a lot of the world and the appreciation for jazz. From France, Germany, Norway, Thailand, Austria, the United Kingdom, Russia, and more. This young jazz artist is conditioned and ready to take on the world. Playing in front of crowds ranging from five thousand to two hundred thousand people that appreciated his talent and the energy he has brought to the stage.

Jarez played at a benefit concert on October 1, 2005 at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheatre in Vail, Colorado for the musicians that lost their homes in the tragic Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans. Jarez was joined on stage by Cyril Neville of the Neville brothers, George Porter Jr. of the Meters, Anders Osborne, Tab Benoit, and Henry Butler. Following that benefit he joined another benefit with Dr. John to benefit the Hurricane Katrina victims.

Jarez has an on screen performance in the motion picture "STOP THE WEDDING" staring Coolio, Rip Torn, Peter Falk, George Segal, Bill Cobbs, Billy Burke, and Nancy Young. Jarez has a small talking role and a performance scene playing his sax.

Jarez has a new album called "TO THE TOP"; special guests include Coolio and Howard Hewitt. Jarel "JAREZ" Posey a musician/producer/engineer is a musical prodigy, all his musical inspirations, hard work, and dedication has made him beyond a doubt a "Sensational Musician" and the rest is historyâ¦â¦â¦
