"Lily Kiara has been making music for a while, which you can hear. Although on her cd, she seems to play the modest girl-with-guitar, she sounds a lot more mature than most Dutch female singer/songwriters.
Kiaraâs voice, and also some of her songs, vaguely remind of Suzanne Vega. The compositions are mostly magnificent. Well-balanced in set-up and sometimes complemented with beautiful, though sober arrangements for, for example, strings. As in When He Smiles, the climax of the albumâ¦No Alibi is a fine cd. Now letâs hope that Lily Kiara will get the chance to present herself to a large audience."

Lily Kiara, acoustic singer/songwriter, based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Her debut album No Alibi, released in summer 2001. The album has 10 intimate and lively songs featuring Lily on guitar and vocals. Other musicians on the album are: Nathalie Wesseling on bassguitar; Ruth Weijers on backing vocals; and Alex Waterman on cello.


The album has reviews in Fret, at www.popinstituut.nl, in Heaven en Music Maker, with a place for âWhen he Smilesâ in âAntjes Achttienâ, Hollands most unreliable poplist. Her music has radioplay at radio 98.6 in Berlin and local stations in Hamburg, Spain, Slovenia and Serbia/Montenegro.

She opened shows for Seattleâs âmoodbluesâ songwriter jr in Seattle; for Cassidy and Jennifer Terran, in Amsterdam, and others. She played in Amsterdams Vondelpark at the finale for singer-songwriter competition Mooie Noten in 2002.
Furthermore she performed her music at open mikes in Amsterdam, Seattle, New York, San Francisco and London; and in 2003 at the successful series house concerts Live in the Livingroom in Amsterdam. She sings on the album Spam, Scores & encores by Palinckx singer Han Buhrs, which came out in 2004.


Lily is currently working on 2 new cds. Inside of This is a new album with new songs, The Great God of Secrecy an album wiht poetry and music. They will be released in 2007 on Lily's own new label Sybil Sings. Check the website for latest news on them...
