"Carptree plays some sort of melancholic, laid back and delightful symphonic pop with a large amount of originality and accuracy. If i was asked to describe them i had to say they partly sound familliar to another Swedish duo called Dive. Mix a little bit of them with Hogarth era Marillion albums like Brave and Afraid Of Sunlight and ad some pinches of Talk Talk (Laughing Stock era) and maybe a little portion of the more progresive side of David Sylvian!
The above may sound like a strange combination, but with a unique band like Carptree it really comes to reality! All songs are very well performed and are presented with a tasteful production and brilliant vocals. Don´t be afraid to try them out cause with songs like Ten Days Of Rain, Give Myself Away, Looking For Something and Tiny Salty Drops you can´t be disappointed.
Carptree is a band people will talk about, so be sure you know what the people are talking about..."

"...but in the case of Carptree my ears are excited, here is an own expression with something to say. Carl Westholm and Niclas Flinck fortunately doesn´t copy the Yes and Genesis school with mighty things for twenty minutes, double keybord and guitar in the solo sections and threethousand syncopations in every epic conceptual song. Carptree keeps it simple, tries to avoid the klichee´s with a far to big sound image. Instead the emfasis is in the material."

Carl and Niclas started playing together as teenagers, went separate ways a few years later, living i different cities and countrys, doing different things,
like participating on two Candlemass albums, a lot of freelancemusic, theatre and other projects. Finaly they got together again in -97 and started to work with Carptrees first album "Carptree" wich was completed in aug-00. The record was released 16/3-01, (17:25).
