LOOK OUT! Admit One is an up-and-coming local group from Edenton, in Northeastern, NC. The have released a debut CD, Leave Me Here and have a fast growing fan base! They are an ultimately secure band unit, all family! Micah (songwriter), just turned age 15, guitar and vocals, Nikolai, age 13, on drums, and (their father) Lars Simonsen, on bass, comprise Admit One. They have been referred to as âa Nirvana sound, but with faith and conviction.â They aim to spread the Word and Hope of Jesus Christ to people, especially young people. On their CD, they mix bold Christian lyrical songs with other songs about insecurities and adjustments to life. Micah believes that if unbelievers can rock on some of his hard rock songs, they will end up listening to his Christian songs and hopefully win them to Christ. They have already been able to break into a non-Christian radio station under this approach. Many of the lyrics seem beyond their years and are quite universal in appeal. These boys have the right stuff, the full package, a serious plan. They would like to find an artist development deal that will allow them to grow in their musical talents without taking anything away from the gaining of a great education and a fun childhood! They are aware of the reality statistics for a band âmaking it,â and are wise enough to keep their heads grounded and value education.

Micah and Nikolai have been performing for years, despite their very young ages. From their first stage appearance at the age of 4 (Nikolai played drums!) and 5 (Micah sang), they have come a long way and covered many miles. These boys act like seasoned veterans on stage or in interviews, never nervous, never shaken. They have preformed under the name Admit One for three years. So far, this band has played large local and regional festivals; Boogie on Broad, The Community Music Festival, That Big Youth Thing, county fairs, live radio (just yesterday doing an on-air show and playing live at 99.1, The Sound), as well as many area churches, concerts, and fundraisers for mission trips. They have just been invited tour with a âRaise the Praiseâ event. They absolutely love to perform, and desire to do more with their music. They just need exposure to rocket off!

Admit One entered the studio at the tender ages of 12 and 13. They worked amazingly well for first time recorders, almost requiring no corrective punches or over dubbing â amazing! They have recorded a 12 song CD of originals, and have released two singles that are already getting some radio spins on Wvod. These two boys are all business where their music is concerned. Formerly homeschooled for 5 years, they have a great symbiotic relationship; Micah is the creative partner, and Nikolai is the business partner. Lars prefers the background, but is the backbone. Chamblee Simonsen (their mom) is the CD producer and manager of the band. They are a real Partridge Family, but they really rock!
