Double Crown Records is proud to release the debut CD by The Buckle Busters. The Buckle Busters are a Bellingham Washington based band that is part Western Swing, part Country, Part Bluegrass, and part Hillbilly Jazz. Our high energy shows have translated to a very broad fan base. We have had the pleasure of playing with country and blues artists such as Carolyn Mark, Del Rey, and the Junita Family, but have also shared the stage with rock bands such as Zeke and the DT's as well. Come check us out! The band features several members of The Footstompin' Trio (Tom Forster on drums (who also plays in Seattle rockabilly combo The Donettes), Jeff Gray on bass/vocals and Dan Lowinger on electric guitar), along with Jordan Francisco on lead vocals/acoustic guitar/mandolin/banjo and Howie Meltzer on fiddle. You'll hear elements of the Footstompin' Trio's sound throughout the ten tracks featured here, but the new players and their own spin on things. Included are faves written by legends like Johnny Cash, Merle Travis and Hank Snow, among others. There's twangy guitars, slapped upright bass and plenty of whisky soaked attitude on display here. The disc has 8 songs, 7 covers and an original instrumental called "The Buckle Buster".
