Charlie Braun is a singer, and a songwriter, but not your typical singer-songwriter. He's a versatile guitarist playing original electric-folk, americana-rock, without forgetting the grooves of blues, the determination of gospel, and the sensibility of lyrical folk music.

Now, he's coming into his own. There were the years of performing with numerous singers, including Carly Simon, James Taylor, and John Hall (Orleans), and renowned musicians Mitch Chakour (Joe Cocker), his brother Mike Braun (Hall and Oates), and Robert Holmes (Aimee Mann).

Now, rejuvenating his intention performing original material, he is establishing as a solo artist, and attracting diverse audiences. His recordings are full and focused, and interwoven with tracks that he's recorded himself. As he says: "People often ask me about the other musicians that are singing and playing on my songs: who are they and where do they come from? Well, they just seem to appear as Iâm recording, but in truth, theyâre all from the smokey basement studio of my imagination. Except for one or two tracks, I do all the vocals and instruments myself. Still, those characters are great to work with, and they usually have a pretty good sense of humor."

The past 8 months have been inspirational; his 2nd CD this year, âThe Next Thingâ, is now out, and a 3rd has already begun. The music is digging in and lighting up: alluring melodies, dynamic rhythms, sweet blues, and soulful stories.
