Sometimes in Jazz musicians come around who are going to do their thing, no matter how difficult it is for them, the people around them, or the people who listen to their music: Monk, Butch Morris, and Iâll add the notorious Daniel Carter to that list. Danielâs âthingâ lies in his method: no leaders and total freedom.

People love D.C. and his music so much that heâs gathered, for better or worse, a virtual army of collaborators who Iâll refer to as âthe D.C. train.â
