2006 Western Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees Harlequin are a staple classic rock artist. The new CD delivers both the power and finesse expected by their existing fans and new younger audiences who are discovering classic rock. The band has recently been performing from coast to coast, playing to capacity audiences at arenas, festivals and other venues.
Harlequinâs roots began as a Canadian circuit band in early 1979. The debut album, Victim Of A Song was produced by Jack Douglas, who'd previously worked with the likes of Cheap Trick, Patty Smith, Aerosmith and John Lennon. Harlequin has achieved Canadian Platinum and Gold status on previous releases. Harlequin has had radio hits with âInnocence,â âThinking Of You,â âSuperstitious Feeling,â âI Did It For Love,â and consistent airplay with âNo Mystery,â âSweet Things In Life,â âYou Are The Lightâ and âSurvive.â Harlequin has extensively toured the U.S, South America and Canada and still receives international royalty payments from as far as Japan.
Based on previous sales and current touring attendances, the new CD is already sought with much anticipation by fans and is some of the strongest work to date by Harlequin. The CD is a collaborative effort shared equally between George Belanger, Derrick Gottfried and Darren Moore. Harlequinâs line up is fronted by original singer/songwriter George Belanger. George is joined by Derrick Gottfried on guitar, Darren Moore on guitar and keyboards and Nick Rivers on bass. Darren and Derrick have also stepped out on this album, sharing the vocal spotlight with George, each performing a track.
