Jameelah's music is relaxing soulful, sultry and smooth. It's neo-soul/jazz.

Jameelah started singing at the age of 6 years old. Inspired by her mother an outstanding vocalist, piano player and voice coach, her desire to pursue a career singing and performing started at a very young age. She come from a family of musicians and singers on both her mother's and father's side of the family. She performed in many local bands in her home-town, Kansas City Ks., as a backup singer and lead vocalist. She and other members of her family form a singing group called the progressive singers.

Entering into many talent events and local competitions in Kansas and the surrounding areas She performed covered songs of Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Teena Marie, Patti La Belle, etc... she received many first and second place awards and trophys performing as a solo act. But as she mutured and developed she started writing, producing and arranging her own songs.

Although she enjoyed performing cover songs of some of her favorite artist like Jill Scott, Alicia Keys, The Emotions, Heather Headley and many of the neo-soul and smooth sounding artist of today and yesterday. Her deepest desire was to perform and sing her own songs. She writes music from her soul. Her style is smooth and sultry but soulful. Her debut cd Jameelah's World", which she co-composed and wrote all the lyrics to every song on this cd except What's Going On, which she added and arrange background vocals to, express and include songs about relationships and real life experience involved around them. Songs to make you appreciate life and the gifts it offer. The cd Includes soul, neo-soul, nu-jazz, R&B and inspirational tracks. "Jameelah's World" was produced by Jameelah(Rashedah J Abdullah) and (recording engineer)Bryan Gordon for Jameelah Productions Inc. Released May 30th, 2007.

The Genre of music performed is Jazz, Soul, Neo-soul, R&B and Inspirational. Although her music is muture her fans are of all ages, starting at 21 and up. Her local following in colorado is a healthy, muture and mixed audience(25 and older).
