User tags: folk alternative, pop quirky, mp3 album
Psychological casio low-fi mental pop.
11 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Alternative Folk, POP: Quirky
Details:
"If Daniel Johnston had a better voice, it might sound like this. A series of finely crafted, but ultimately obscure, pop-quirk songs.
Composed in 1991, the songs are layered atop a Casio rhythm track. This gives it a low-fi, manufactured-sound type atmosphere. Like a video game or music box.
The lyrics hint at a skewed mental logic - some kind of private cosmology is underlying everything. It makes sense, but doesn't really make any sense.
There is a visit to the psychiatrist in "The Appearance of Dr. Ego". In which the doctor says "Present yourself as a metaphor it's easier that way..."
A twisted child's game in "Scissors, Paper, Stone".
An invective against Le Corbusier in "Modular Guy". In which the author says "I want to be 226 cm high"
A glimpse into the mind of a fast-food worker in "The Formation of a Multitude". In which the narrator states "I see people. 10,000 people. In line"
And many more fun filled hours of music listening enjoyment."
Keller Irwin, Much Aplomb about Nothing
Background:
Kern Ramble is based in Austin, Texas. All songs are written and performed solely by Kern Ramble and recorded in his home studio.
