"Water Lily Waits" is a 2-CD set of original music for movement and meditation featuring Haiku lyrics, ethereal vocals and rich percussion. Volume #1 are full percussion versions of the songs for listening and for movement (i.e., to utilize with Kathy Gracenin's Energy Choreography, dance, yoga, Taijiquan, etc.). Volume #2 are meditative versions with interludes of silence (i.e., for meditation, contemplative prayer, etc.). "Water Lily Waits" was created by three artists. Kathy Gracenin, who wrote the Haiku lyrics for the collection, has studied movement and dance since the age of three. An Artist in Education for the State of Pennsylvania, with a Master of Fine Arts in dance and movement from Case Western Reserve University, she has taught for several university dance programs and at the International Dance Workshop in Germany.She is a well-known Master Teacher in her art, and is a specialist in movement analysis. Kristen Short, who wrote and performed the vocal arrangements, is a singer/songwriter who has released three original music CDs on Sea Siren Records® prior to "Water Lily Waits" - "Blossom in the Dust" (1998), "Dove in a Hurricane" (2000), and "The Loan" (2007). Good Times Magazine cites Kristen as "one of Maine's most promising singer/songwriters." Rusty Wiltjer, who wrote and performed the percussion arrangements on his own handcrafted instruments, has been a professional drummer for 40 years and a potter for 35 years. He merges the unique qualities of clay into the powerful forces of rhythm with beautiful and hauntingly resonant works of musical art.
