Bull's Blues (What's New Records) is the first release by guitarist/composer Nobuki Takamen. This album, with Ro Hasegawa on tenor sax, Hitoshi Kanda on piano, Toshiyuki Tanahashi on bass and Makoto Kikuchi on drums features nine of his compositions and has been featured in publications such as Just Jazz Guitar, Jazz Life Magazine, Swing Journal and Audio Basic.
Nobuki Takamen was born and raised in Hiroshima, Japan. A graduate of Berklee College of Music in Boston, he now makes in his residence in Jersey City, NJ where he is quickly becoming a part of the vibrant east coast jazz scene. He is the band leader of NOBUKI TAKAMEN GROUP which regularly performs at various venues in New York. In addition to regular appearances in the New York area jazz scene, he has performed at the Rochester International Jazz Festival 2007 and also gigs and tours throughout Japan, particularly in support of his first album.
Nobuki endorses Acoustic Image Amplifiers, Raezer's Edge Speaker Cabinets and Yamaha USA.
