Singer/Songwriter Preston Camp, Jr., A Country Music Award Winning Songwriter & BMI Nashville Recorded Writer debuts on Red Note Records with his Cd titled " PRESTON CAMP, JR. Anywhere, Texas. Produced by J David Leonard, once named Songwriter Of The Year by The Tennessee Songwriters Association, it includes such musical talents as Tommy Dodd on steel guitar, who among many of his credits played steel on Travis Tritts " Country Club " album. It also includes the bluesy vocals of Jennifer Ferren, Tom Wolf on Harmonica, Robert Taylor on Fiddle & J David Leonard on Piano,aucustic guitar & electric guitar. He's a Graduate of The University Of Georgia, where he was a member of the UGA DAWGS Football Team. After graduating he played clubs, honky tonks & taverns in Georgia & Alabama. Then after spending time on the streets of Nashville's Music Row pitching songs & receiving encouragement from Greats such as Jerry Reed & Sonny Throckmorton, Preston settled in to a long stint at writing & compiled over 40 songwriting awards to his name. His songwriting awards include one of California's American Song Festival's Top Awards, numerous awards from the Nashville Songwriting Association International, numerous awards from the Atlanta Songwriters Association & The Georgia Music Industry Association. A BMI recorded writer, he's had cuts by Country artists from Atlanta to Nashville from Kansas City to California. Upon release of Preston's CD " Anywhere, Texas" to Americana Radio across the US & Europe in May of 2007, he's back in the studio working on his follow up album, again mixing some Honky Tonk songs, Traditional country, and soulful,heartfelt songs. His songs and sound have been compared to the Legendary Kris Kristifferson and the outlaw sound of the Great Waylon Jennings. On past projects he's worked with a lot of the Greatest Talents in Nashville, Producer Chip Martin, who also is a well known writer with one of his songs on Mark Wills "Gold" album, "Permanently", Mike Radovsky ( previously on drums with BLACKHAWK ), Troy KLontz on steel guitar & dobro,well known drummer Rich Redmond ( CMA Musician of The Year nominee in 2004 ) Tim Lorsch on fiddle, & Brady Spencer to name just a few.
