Details:
"He's meddled in metal, wandered about in world rock and is starting to dabble in disco. His name is Stacy Lloyd Brown and for the past two years Halifax has been his home base for his genre defying blend of folk music.
The result of Brown's musical experimentation has been the reinvention of folk music unheard since the '90s when artists like Nirvana, the Meat Puppets and Beck started to push the boundaries of folk music - bringing folk together with punk, metal and psychedelia.
Brown has taken this project a step further, not settling with a single blend of genres and proving that folk can mix with any genre. When asked how he would define his music Brown says, bluntly, "I wouldn't."
"I don't think in genres. The way my music has been progressing from one thing to another it just seems so seamless that I can't tell when one shifts to another.
"It seems like from the first song I wrote to the last oneone just shifts from one to another in a natural progression that I don't really control."-Mike Landry
