FIRST REVIEW:
"Sleight of Hand" by Ten of Clubs
Ten of Clubs are a talented bunch. This cd contains some of the best guitar playing I've heard in a long time. Infused with different musical styles such as Classic Rock, Flamenco, Swing, Big Band, Blues, and much more. Ten of Clubs melds them together for an explosion of music. High octane, up-beat drum playing keeps up the energy. Guitar playing is reminiscent of guitar hero Randy Rhodes. Drums remind me of Cherry Poppin' Daddies. Ten of Clubs proves that the music does all the talking and that there's nothing better than good ol' rock 'n' roll.
Track 1 "Alley Cat"
Song starts off strong with up-tempo drum beat. Enter distortion to the guitar playing, along with high energy bass riff. The catchy bass line and magic worked on the guitar makes this track out of this world. This track is pure rock 'n' roll.
Track 4 "Big Daddy"
The drums on this track are swing/ big band influenced. This is a very cool zoot suit swinging tune that'll have your feet tappin' and fingers snappin'. Drums stay up-beat through the entire song. Guitar playing takes you away to another world.
Track 6 "Bandito De Pena"
I loved this track. The intro reminds me of Steely Dan's "Do It Again". This track is influences by many genres. Classic Rock and Flamenco are morphed together to produce pure Rock. A sweet track to say the least.
