Hey Timm whatâs up?
Sorry itâs been awhile bro. Weâve had all our heads together in the studio churning out our latest EP, "Balance". Weâre so proud of this project, especially since we wrote and produced it on our own. Of course, it wasnât too bad working with Jeff Blue on a demo out in LA last year either. Jeff produced Linkin Park, Macy Gray, and also found Korn. Remember, you met him once here in Louisville the week we hosted the 2004 Rock and Ride Festival with over 200 regional indie artists at Six Flags and Fourth Street Live. That's where we played in front of 12,000 people and you couldn't believe how many people were feeling the live show we put on. Man I didnât want to get off stage!
Anyway, we recorded all the brand new tracks at Liquid Sound Studio in Indiana with Tyler Morrison, a talented individual (he did the cello on the album as well as engineer)! Wish you could have made the release show when hundreds of people were just singing my words back to me bro, unbelievable. Even blew a few speakers too. It was funny, but thank the lord that Eminence Speakers sponsors us. We sold tons of discs that night, but you were there on our first release at headliners when our band name was Eclectic and we played with current Universal artist Villebillies. Over 800 peeps packed in there with several hundred turned away, and we sold a couple hundred copies of "Tables Turned" just that night. We even went on to sell a few thousand over the next couple of years.
You remember your favorite track on that old one don't you? âBreatheâ, which was in the top five most requested on LRS 105.1 here in Louisville for 14 straight weeks in 2003, helped us win two LEO awards the following year for Best Local Rock Band and Best Original Band. Oh yeah, you heard it on the radio out there in Oklahoma didnât you? It felt great playing "Breathe" and the others off "Tables Turned" in front of almost 10,000 people at LRS Fest on the riverfront. You came in town to see us then didnât you? We played in front of Trapt, Everclear, and Sponge just two days after we won battle of the bands in Louisville. Soon we charted regionally in three major markets (NY, CA, CO) besides Louisville and with the help of Tinderbox Promotion and our management WiseSmith, Inc. landed regional tours which took us to great venues in cities such as New York City, Chicago, Nashville, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and of course out you're way in Oklahoma City!
We all think our new single âInnocentâ, off our new EP, should do even better than âBreatheâ all around the region. The video for it is sweet too! You should check it out on our myspace when you get a chance. If not, look for it on MTV2 and FUSE in the coming months. We all look damn good onscreen I might say. HA! Even better than we looked on the small screen when we were featured on the WB Network for the Rascals Comedy Club special.
Look for us on the road soon and on the radio as well, including XM satellite radio which recently featured us on Billy Zero's RADAR Report (XMU CH.43) and recognizes up and coming indie artists across the world. Weez, Justin, and Terry give you ups and can't wait to throw back some shots of Jagermeister with you. They keep sending us all this promotional stuff for the shows but I'm like when are they going to start sending the bottles?
Love ya bro, take care and weâll be in your town soon enough!
Brendan,
