Born and raised along the beautiful Columbia River in northeast Washington State, Donna Jo Smith has definitely been influenced by the gentle flow of a powerful river. Creative sensitivity flows through her harp music just as water through its river bed.

Donna Jo was raised on a farm near her current residence of Gifford, WA. Loving and playing with animals continues to be a real satisfaction for her. Formal musical training was limited to 1-1/2 years of piano lessons and from there Donna Jo blossomed. She found her first harp, a lifelong dream, about seven years ago and taught herself to play the beautiful old instrument. She loves to reach out to others, whether it be at weddings, funerals, quilt shows, or parties, with her beautiful harp music.

This CD, Simple Gifts II, is actually Donna Jo's second. The process of creating has been especially fulfilling, and who knows; maybe there is another CD in the works!
