My names Laura Brehm, Iâm sixteen years old, and this is my music. I was one of those kids who knew exactly what they wanted to be when they grew up at a very young age. When I was three years old I insisted that my mom would video tape me singing, and I refused to stop! I started playing piano at that age as well, and would make up simple little songs that I performed at my piano recitals. I took piano lessons up until I was thirteen, when I picked up a guitar. This is when I started teaching myself the basics and writing a lot more songs. Having Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton, and Avril Lavigne as my main influences, I kept writing and improving my songs that added up to about 4 notebooks. However I was much shyer than I was ten years before, and I rarely shared them with anyone. During my junior year, I took a guitar class that forced me to perform in front of a room of people, so I sang my song âDay to Dayâ and was surprised that people enjoyed it. Soon I became more comfortable with sharing my personal songs, and started recording them with Nick Cocozzella (Kill Paradise). Now I have a full length album that Iâm extremely proud about and ready to share with the world! Each of the ten songs on the CD are different from one another, but share the same acoustic pop sound and lyrics that many can relate to. So sit back, relax, and enjoy!
