Details:
Hello I'm Russell Murray, band/artist name: RUSSO.I was born Alistair Russell Murray, Dunmore, Stirlingshire, Scotland on 25 November 1973.I learn't my first chords on a banjo in 1987. The next year I started playing an acoustic guitar at age 14. I slowly started to build up a collection of acoustic and electric guitars, amps (Marshall half stacks x2) and loads of retro effects like a WEM copycat, flanger and wah-wah. I bought my first Fender in '93 and was earning money performing, by the age of 19. In the late 90's I had stopped playing...and for 3 years or more, I didn't even own a guitar, let alone play one. By 2000 I had the bug again, bought some more amps and guitars and started to record demo's, sending them out to record companies. In 2005, I set up my own music label The Cat Jumped Over The Moon Records and started selling my own releases, independently inc. Batwoman versus The Banshee 2005 and The Gothic Surf Puppies 2006. I'm currently writing new material and hope to release another album early next year. I am also rehearsing with a group called Tashi Ton Ton & The Screaming Buddha's. I now live in Edinburgh on the east coast of Scotland.
