Steelhouse got started in 2005 by David Thompson, 43, and Andy Smith, 23. David has had a back ground in singing since he was a young child. Andy began playing at the age of five, and started playing gigs by the age of thirteen. The two played and filled in with bands together off and on for several years. Wanting to pursue, writing and producing their own music, they broke away, found a drummer, Shawn Kendall, and began their own small band, Steelhouse. In an old, run down house, they made The Road Ahead. David tends to prefer country music (Vern Gosdin) and light rock (Badfinger) while Andy leans more to southern rock (Lynyrd Synyrd) and outlaw country (Charlie Daniels). Contributing to this, on the CD, you will notice the variety of music, making it good listening for several differant genres of music.
