After a 20+ year hiatus, famous painters, Chris Pudsey and John Reynolds
were reunited at a gathering with former bandmates, Mark Alfred and Cam
Villar (www.thechromedrug.com), and almost immediately began discussing
plans to record a new cd of original contemporary Christian music. Within
weeks the duo had begun work on the project that would some six months
later culminate with the release of famous painters: PATE RD.

Reynolds, a Pensacola, FL native, began taking guitar lessons at age 13
and soon began playing in churches and at youth group functions. While
attending Concordia Lutheran College in Austin, TX, John started writing
his own songs and upon his return to Pensacola, he, along with Alfred
and Villar, formed the original Names, the first "new wave" band in the area.
With the breakup of the Names, he soon moved to New Orleans where he
spent the next 23 years playing in various secular and Christian bands
as well as performing solo. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, John
moved back to Pensacola, paving the way for the reunion with Chris.

Chris Pudsey was born into a military family, which after various assign-
ments across the country, finally settled in Pensacola. Childhood friend
Villar introduced Chris and John in 1980 and the pair quickly became fast
friends and musical collaborators. When John moved to New Orleans in
1982, Chris soon followed and they, along with Richard Hassell, recorded
an EP under the name News, Sports and Weather. When Chris moved
back to Pensacola in late 1983 they eventually lost touch. That is until
the reunion in September 2006 that has resulted in their new cd.

famous painters new cd,PATE RD, consists of 16 original songs that
strive to reflect life's struggles as a flawed human being as well as God's
plan and promise of salvation, mercy and grace.
