Natasha Leeâs distinctive, sultry voice perfectly captures the psychological hinterland that the honey eaters explore. This music was created in a tiny, basement studio in rural Victoria; a landscape hot and dry in the summer, cold and grey in the winter â dominated by the forests of the Great Dividing Range to the east, which you can see from the doorway to the studio.

Recorded over several months between 06 and 07, the honey eaters eponymous C.D. contains songs which reflect, perhaps, the environment they recorded them in â often dealing with isolation of one sort or another. The people in these songs are usually in some kind of transitional phase in their lives; separation in a relationship, in prison and unable to go home, isolated in the desert on some kind of spiritual quest, isolation through the death of a lover, the list goes on..

The honey eaters is a duo; the other member being award winning songwriter and multi instrumentalist Jev Telford. For this project, Jev played whatever was at hand in order to shape the rich â largely acoustic- landscapes that underpin Natashaâs voice, including; acoustic and electric guitars, slide, piano, fretless bass, harmonica, drums, percussion and occasional backing vocals.

This CD is currently receiving a lot of airplay on community radio stations across Australia.
