JCK is an urban/rap artist from central Auckland. Recognised for his potential in 2004 he was signed to respected Indie label Pagan/Antenna records. JCK started out entering music competitions with local urban radio stations, which gave him a sizable amount of radio airplay and the first taste of recognition. Soon after he was successful in receiving funding from New Zealand on Air and recorded his debut single âFreak in the clubâ with an accompanying music video that took the nation by storm and played on all of New Zealandâs music television shows for a good part of a year.
