With booty shaking bass, grooving drums and melodic guitar, the Jigawatt Trio has played instrumental funk rock for the last year in Chicago. Rock, funk, Latin and jazz with plenty of improvisation are the tools. Original compositions and updated jazz standards are the music. Add the fire of the classic trio format and you have the Jigawatt Trio.

An apt description of the Jigawatt Trio was penned by a Myspace.com listener who wrote "Jigawatt Jigarocks!" After playing one of our tunes on his show, Shane Davies from Hostage Radio said "It had a little edge to it...very cool."

The Jigawatt Trio is Steve Richards on guitar, Justin Franciose on bass and Chris Morrow on drums. Steve has performed with Lori Wyatt and recorded with local rock and hip hop artists. Justin was a founding member of the jam rock band Hopah and also performs with Alive, a Pearl Jam tribute band. Chris, a Berklee College of Music alumnus, has performed with the blues funk outfit Squai, progressive rock artist Eric Mantel, ace session guitarist Harry Hmura, and the jazz group the New Fuse.
