He sees music as a mirror, held up to reflect not what can be seen on the outside, but rather to reflect that which we think to keep hidden on the inside. We rarely succeed at this as those around us usually see right through, which points to the fact that under the skin we are all the same.

This reveals a knowledge and wisdom caught up in our emotions that has nothing to do with our intellect.
