Joe started playing guitar when he was 15 years old. On his 16th birthday, his parents bought him a brand new electric guitar. It was then when Joe started taking his playing seriously.

He wrote his first song a few months after his birthday and realized how much he really enjoyed it. Joe loved the feeling of release after writing a song. From that point on, when an idea popped into his head, he wrote his thoughts down on paper.

Much of what Joe was writing came from experiences he had gone through or the experiences he had seen others go through. He felt that if he wrote a song about something that was bothering him, it helped him deal with it. Writing was like a therapy session.

In the summer of 2003, Joe traveled to Oberlin, OH outside of Cleveland to record his first album, "Still Young". His brother Ryan recorded and produced the album. That following autumn, the album was released.

Joe spent his time playing a few shows here and there, and trying to sell his album. After a few short months of income from the album sales, Joe decided to buy his dream guitar, a Martin dreadnought.

From there, Joe went on to play more shows around the Elmira/Corning area in Upstate NY. He recorded his second album, an EP called "What If We Ruled The World?" The album was released in the winter of 2005.

Since the release of his EP, Joe has spent his time playing as much as possible. In the summer of 2006, Joe went on his first mini-tour from New York City, up to Albany, back home, and places in between.

In February of 2007, Joe's song, "The Troubadour", was chosen as the MENC's Pennsylvania finalist for the John Lennon Songwriting Scholarship Award.

Joe's third album, Worn Out Joke, is a tribute to the people and places that have influenced him throughout his life. The title comes from a book of jokes called "Joe Miller's Jests or the WITS Vade-mecum" written in 18th century London. The Worn Out Joke album will be released to the public in June of 2007.
