In the Summer of 2006, Guitarist Rich Cornelison & Bassist Marty Mitchell reunited and got together with Guitarist Don Lindner and Drummer Tim Scrivner to form a band. They are all seasoned musicians and to complete this new band, they decided to audition a singer. Through Myspace.com, they found heavy metal vocalist Elsa Faith, who originally came from Singapore. After jamming together for the first time, they instantly felt the chemistry, decided to join forces and named themselves "Soul Distraction".

Even with a wide range of musical influences like Black Sabbath, The Cult, GNR, Alice In Chains and Megadeth, Soul Distraction's music is distinctively their own. Rock is a basic genre to describe it but with Don's wailing guitars, which will remind us of Jimi Hendrix & Slash (GNR) combined, and Rich's soulful & mesmerizing yet aggressive riffs, similar to Pepper Keenan (COC) mixed with Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society), it balances and frees the soul.

Plus imagine, if Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue, Brides of Destruction) and Matt Sorum (GNR, The Cult) were in the same band, providing the thunderous, heart pounding bottom end, appropriate for the arena sound created by great bands of the 80s. That is how Tim & Marty, the master rhythm section, work together.

And uniquely, they don't just have Elsa Faith as another female frontwoman. She is able to enchant listeners with her harmonies and ballads like Dolores O'Riordon (The Cranberries), Karen Carpenter (The Carpenters) & Patsy Cline yet expect Dave Mustaine (Megadeth), Johnny Rotten (Sex Pistols) meets Axl Rose (GNR) when she belts out her whiskey soaked vocals in heavier songs.

With all the elements combined, Soul Distraction is fast becoming a major rock band.

Barely a year old, they have opened up for international acts, performed more than 20 shows, sold all of the copies of their self-released EP and several songs are already getting radio airplay with rave reviews all over the country. In the summer of 2007, they will be touring the United States to support their debut full length, "The Truth Pill".

Each and every month the band grows and becomes more of a solid unit. New songs are endless with this band. Only time will prove how this band will one day take the world by storm, becoming a household name and Grammy winning artist.
